“But God meant it unto good”
Pastor preached recently about the life of Joseph – one of his favorite Bible accounts.
Joseph’s dad, Jacob, had just died. The brethren that sold Joseph into slavery were afraid that he would take vengeance on them since their dad was gone. But Joseph was a man of great character and he actually wept when he understood what they feared.
Joseph made his famous statement in Genesis 50:19-21: “And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them and spake kindly unto them.”
Many things today seem bad and mean-spirited. Could it be that God is working something GOOD?
