In John 13:15, Jesus says He has given us an example to follow. That means we have a definite purpose for being here and to accomplish. This well-defined purpose or goal should imitate what Jesus was showing His disciples. We need to be sure our actions reflect His priorities and values!
In Mark’s gospel we see Jesus repeating His purpose in this world. “Jesus came… preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying… repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15) Jesus came with the specific purpose of saving the lost, and everything He did pointed to that end. “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (Mark 2:17c)
What a privilege to be a Christian and follow Jesus’ example!
We are to share the gospel at every opportunity!
