Mary did what she could. She used her money and time to purchase the ointment which she poured on Jesus’ head. Perhaps there were others who could do more, but she did what she could because she loved Him. Nothing ever given to Christ is wasted. It was Mary’s motive — not the value of her gift — that was important. For this, she received the praise of the Saviour.
What about us? Are we really doing what we can?
May we pour out our time, our talents, our very lives in love at His feet today, that He may say of us that we have done what we could.
